Dan Goor on creating 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'
In this episode, we present a conversation with the Co-Creator of the Golden Globe-winning cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Dan Goor, who talks about meeting fellow show creator and longtime collaborator Mike Schur, attending clown school over becoming a doctor and not shying away from tackling topical subject matter such as gun control, sexism, and racial profiling.
Goor got his start writing for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, for which he won an Emmy Award in 2001. He was also a writer for NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien, where he won an Emmy in 2007. Prior to working on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Goor was an executive producer, writer and director on the Peabody Award-winning comedy Parks and Recreation.
